went to Camerata de Lausanne concert just now at YST Conservatory of Music, alone. everyone seems to be busy tonight. either that or they're not interested. ppl just don't know how to appreciate concerts. i was feeling really sian about getting rejected so i just decided to go alone.
anyways, the concert was great! splendid. stunning. if u know who is Pierre Amoyal, i think he's french. He's an awesome violinist, rich in emotions and has a friendly face, though old.
my teacher told me in my first violin lesson, every piece of music is like a story, so by playing it we're like the storyteller. pretty cool huh.
during a contemporary piece (Concerto Per Archi by Nino Rota), the piece made me visualise a ship in the storm, then a sailor who's desperately searching rooms in the ship to see if there's anybody inside, then he thought of his grandmother. melancholic tune.
during the 2nd movemnt, the scene changed to a playful carnival, with clowns, fun rides and all. the guy was having fun. then aft that it changed to a playful yet dark and dangerous carnival. it's like it's night time. then the rides are fun yet at the same time dangerous. haha the feeling is complicated. i can't really make out of it.
when the 3rd movement comes, it's more of a victorious, joyful tune, singing its victory over darkness. in the middle it sings of its difficulty in winning. it ended off victoriously, from what i remembered and felt.
haha. that's my first interpretation of that music. of how i feel and what i visualise. the other pieces are classical. i paid more attention to the violinist than the piece itself. hmm.. then i realised it's over. had a great time in the concert hall, myself. wish i could play like them. well one day i guess. dunno when will that be, but yeah, one day i'll be a storyteller with my violin :)
