oops sorry for my previous post which is full of unnecessary complains. hehe
today is Sunday! rest day! i slept like 4 hours in the afternoon! set alarm to wake up but when i was trying to wake up a little voice was telling me, 'you gotta have ur fundamentals (sleep in this case) first.' i don't know. my body has developed a defense mechanism against waking up. it has advanced from snoozing alarm for 1+hour to developing excuses not to wake up. anyway, when i woke up i feel like i've been sleeping a dead sleep - the kind of sleep when ur body feels so dead tired and it feels like u're dead. sth like that.
anyways. i have to do bioengineering research in awhile. but before that, God really inspires me alot! where do I start... today pastor taught about God as the 'Ancient of Days', the Eternal Father. You know we have a past, present and a future, but to God right, He only has present. it's difficult to visualize right. Pastor drew parallel to this which i thought is very interesting. Imagine an author writing a book. He writes, 'A girl heard a knock on her door.....' and then he spent 5 hours thinking what the girl would do next. then he writes, 'then the girl immediately got up and open the door.' to the girl it's only 2seconds of time, but to the writer it took him 5 hours. in the same way, God has planned every details in our lives. every single detail of it. who's your parents, who's gonna be your friend, who's gonna be your teacher, etc etc. Pastor drew another parallel, let's say you're driving, then you're about to crash in a matter of 2sec. Out of desperation you called out, 'God save me!' well God in His time, He has the whole eternity to think about that. 'Should I save you? would this fulfil my plan?' etc etc. Pretty funny the way pastor described it. haha anyway. yup so after 2sec you find yourself saved. LOL. But ultimately what pastor is trying to bring out is God is Eternal and that's why we find security in Him. cuz He knows what's best for us, it's only up to us whether we follow His perfect plan or not. that's right!
God also taught me about His grace and faith in Him. I don't have to do anything to be His child. it is by His grace and not my deeds. How awesome. I would have failed if i have to do things to earn His blessings, for He is the God of Excellence, how would i ever measure up to Him?
Also, God is pleased when we believe in Him. Jesus is the author and perfector of faith. got me thinking quite a bit there. Since Jesus is the author of faith, means faith is not originated from ourselves, but inspired by the Holy Spirit. Think about it for a moment. If i'm a non-christian, I wouldn't just believe in God with my own understanding. I mean, I can't even see him, you expect me to believe in Him? who is this God whom christians described as so loving? i would have all the doubts in my head and think that Christians are just foolish in believing in something that does not exist just to make themselves feel better. But instead, it is when Holy Spirit works in our spirits, stirs up faith in us, only we will receive the revelation that God is indeed true. Many times we try to strive by own faith, not realising that faith is inspired by the faithful God Himself. so yup, let's pray God will strengthen our faith in our walk with Him!
so much of thoughts. haha. that's all for now. have a blessed week! (:
